Y6 Conference 2019
Preparing for change.
When Y6 start their last year at Prescot Primary, we stop and reflect together on the year ahead. The two classes mix and work together throughout the day, exploring various aspects of social and emotional learning.
This year's conference began with team games and was followed by time to explore how mindsets changed during the recent PGL trip. Children recognised those moments that were extremely challenging for them and the learning successes that these moments created.
The conference also looked at the relationships we have with lots of different children and adults, and how we can build these positively into 'healthy' relationships.
Online safety becomes more significant this year as children begin to own their own devices and experience more freedom than in previous years. The children explored the concept of 'digital reputation' and how we can be more 'share aware'.

Finally, we looked at the United Nation's Convention on the Rights of the Child'. This will play an important role in our school this year as we work towards our Silver award. The children read articles detailing the rights of every child and chose ones that meant the most to them.
It was a very purposeful and thought-provoking day.
